something must be done to combat this horribly abused font…
In 1995 Microsoft released the font Comic Sans originally designed for comic book style talk bubbles containing informational help text. Since that time the typeface has been used in countless contexts from restaurant signage to college exams to medical information. These widespread abuses of printed type threaten to erode the very foundations upon which centuries of typographic history are built.

Sticker Shock - a letter from Vincent Connare
you may remember that about a month ago i posted about the Optimus keyboard. well i thought that it was only a computer generated render of a concept, but MacBidouille had some other info about it.
It is currently still at the prototype level, but should be available in 2006 for the price of a “high-end” mobile phone, in other words, couple of hundreds euros.
…
Depending on its availability and final price, this keyboard might be a success, leaving Apple White keyboard in its box…
there’s actaully a prototype of this?!? well - i’ll be keeping a close eye on 2006, that’s for sure!
now - for the Apple OLED keyboard.
well, it isn’t actaully an Apple produced keyboard, but an Apple white keyboard that’s been hacked by iKeyInfinity Corporation.
it isn’t the most beautiful hack, definitely more advanced research than a DIY hack. but a big congratulations is deserved!

alright - i’ve gone and acquired this URL, of the largest collection of pirate documents on the interwebs!!
here you can look for lots of different, and authentic pirate documents. letters of marque, letters of reprisal, quotes, pirate licences and ads and pamphlets, among lots of other goodies!
and why has this website come about, here is the answer…
I was fascinated with the idea of a license to have a private warship (privateer) and started to research and collect copies of these documents. This web site is the result of that interest. True to form, I have researched, stolen, plagiarized and generally acted like a pirate to get all these documents. Everything in this website is pirated. Piratedocuments.com is now the largest collection of authentic Letters of Marque and Admiralty documents on the web because of that happy hour. And I«ÉŸve only posted about half of my collection. This has to be one of the most unique gifts going. Personalize an historic document.
yes, i like this man’s manner of thinking.
and we also have this magnificant ASCII art from the Pirate site:

it’s only a short article, and four pictures - but afterall, a picture does speak a thousand words.

another VFX site pops up out of the ground, and the VFX links category grows.
okay… so it doesn’t exactly happen like that with sites popping up from the ground.

our own Animal Logic has worked on this big ad for Carlton United (you know, the guys who make beer - with those big metal things).
shot in Queenstown, New Zealand, just about all the backpackers they could find were recruited - 300 extras in total. but that wasn’t nearly enough for this big ad. the large crowd shots were done with CG, taking 12 weeks to animate.
