CG Channel has posted an interesting interview with VFX Supervisor - Vladimir Leschinski.
Vladimir headed the team that created the outstanding visual effects for the first Russian box-office hit “The Night Watch” by director Timur Bekmambetov. He supervised shots 10 years ago for director Nikita Mikhalkov in “Burn by the Sun”, 1995 Academy winner for “Best Foreign Language Film”. Very prolific in his home country, he recently supervised visual effects for the thriller “Captivity” for director Rolland Joffe.
also check the CGTalk.ru site for more pictures - higher res and lots of process/before and after shots.

CG Channel has an article about the effects created for the Foo Fighters “D.O.A.” video.
director Michael Palmieri from A Band Apart was responsible for the video.
The video has the Foos performing in a room that slowly completes a 360-degree rotation over the course of the song. That concept required that the musicians be rigged to a large box-shaped contraption attached to a turntable that flipped them upside down.

no, i’m not talking about the funny looking spots you may find on various parts of your anatomy - these are a couple of great ads for (as far as i can tell) the French rail system. (but i could be wrong. French was never my forte.)

the site is in French, but there’s no speaking, except in the very last part of the ads, you’ll be able to get the idea anyway.
amaztype is described as a typographic book search.
basically, you select a search word, then let it go about collecting the images to make up that word… just try it out - it’s pretty neat.
what is up with this? believe it or not - this is the new Nintendo Revolution controller:
it’s alright - it’ll take you a bit of time to get over the WTP factor. ![]()
