at an Apple Media Event in the Moscone Center West in San Francisco last night - Apple has had some very big announcments to make.
first off was the iTunes mobile phone. the Motorola ROKR E1 comes with iTunes and can hold about 100 songs. Steve Jobs said “The way we think of this phone is, it’s really an iPod shuffle on your phone”. the ROKR E1 is available now in the U.S. and expeceted by mid-September in the U.K.
the iPod nano was announced as the successor to the iPod Mini line. the nano is flash memory bases instead of using a hard drive and comes in 2GB and 4GB models and is alot smaller than the original iPod (80% smaller). the new iPod is half the thickness of the iPod mini, supports the dock connector and features a colour display that can support photos.
iTunes 5 was also released. the most noticable changes are the streamlined design, but there’s also lots of much-requested features that have made it into this new version.
