Health Department Warning to Females Lifting Weights

LOL.

this is funny stuff…

poor ASF woman

Paranoia has gripped women around the world as Accidental Super-Freakism (Accidentilium Superious-Freakazoidus or ASF) reaches epidemic proportions «Éœ yet mysteriously, not a single sufferer can be found!

ASF seems to manifest as an allergic reaction to weight training equipment loads in excess of 2 kilos. According to reports, overnight the victims entire structure undergoes horrific mutations such that by morning they resemble a professional male bodybuilder «Éœ complete with dark tan, paper thin skin, rippling abdominals and posing oil!

Doctor Richard Head, is baffled.

«É?I am baffled! These poor women are suffering what previously required more than a decade of deliberate, chronic, anabolic drug abuse, intense weight training and long-term extreme dieting.«É?

read the rest of this shocking story at the link. and for anyone who’s still confused - i guess i’d better just say that this is a joke.

iPod nano 200GB

4GB in the iPod nano is pretty good - especially considering just how small it is. but 200GB? even better! :D

this mod gives an amazing increase in storage size - but the battery life is slightly reduced.

just look at it! i know that this would go great with the P*Phone.

instructions are right here: iPod nano 200GB instructions.

TextPander - neat OS X app

if you’re an OS X user and routinely find yourself typing the same bits of text over and over and over and…

textpander logo

you’ll probably want to take a look at TextPander. you choose the snippet of text that you want be inserted - then you choose what abbreviation you want to use to expand that snippet of text.

for example - when i’m writing a post here i usually have to type a bit of HTML with each post, some more than others. so instead of typing all the code - now all i have to type is a couple of characters and a whole bunch of code is inserted, and all i’ve gotta do is fill in the blanks. pretty neat stuff. combine this with one handed typing and nothing will slow you down!

and as an added bonus - it’s FREE!

card art

i just found a bunch of neat things to use your old public transport cards for.

if you spend lots of time on public transport this could be a great way to pass time.

K2 - a whole new look

well i just coldn’t wait any longer.

for a while now Michael Heilemann and Chris J Davis have been working on K2 - the successor to the well known and loved WordPress theme - Kubrick. it’s still in beta - so not everything will work as expected. but that’s alright. because it just looks so nice.

everything will slowly start coming together as i tweak things, but do let me know if you notice any major problems.

Starbucks logo history

and so the Starbucks logo history lesson #1 begins…

As and introduction to this bit of research let me present a short quote from the cult cartoon show Futurama (episode [2ACV12] “The Deep South“) in which one of the characters, Fry, tries to engage in “maritals” with a mutant mermaid:

“Umbriel: What the hell is that?
Fry: Yeah I’m a little confused too. How do I… y’now…with the tail and all.
Umbriel: I’m not your first am I? I mean, I lay my eggs and leave and you release your fertiliser.
[Scene: Outside Colonel’s House. Fry runs away from the house at top speed.]
Fry (gasping): Why couldn’t she be the other type of mermaid, with the fish part on top and the lady part on the bottom?”

i hear people saying “what does this have to do with Starbucks”? well some may recognize similarities between the below picture and the Starbucks logo (i didn’t at first), but read the article and find out the history behind the logo.

15th century siren

and if you’re interested in that - you may also be interesed in an article on the FedEx logo. although it’s not quite as exciting (unless you’re a design-head, then you should find it interesting) but there is something subliminal in the logo (that i’ve never noticed before, and probably never would have if i didn’t see this article)… interesting.

parasitic advertising & shower hair

mleak, a Flickr user has gone and some some things that bring a new meaning to the term “parasitic advertising”. yes, insects were caught and painted with various logos. (this could really be dangerous… don’t let the marketing companies get hold of this info. )

adidas spider

and more recently… not being content with the painted bugs - shower hair pictures are the latest creation.

shower hair

one things for sure - these photos sure are interesting (especially the painted insects) and gross (especially the shower hair pictures).
