Ruby’s latest adventure places our heroine in a large complex environment and uses high dynamic range lighting and dynamic soft shadows to set the mood. The villain of the piece, a cyborg called Cyn, is our most complex character to date, consisting of over 120,000 polygons - all lit, transformed, rendered and shaded using the power of the Radeon¬Æ X1800.

The Art Of Philip Staub

Mr Angry & Mrs Calm

a pretty neat optical illusion.

Mr Angry + Mrs Calm

you can see that the person on the left is Mr Angry, and on the right is Mrs Calm. but stand about 6 feet back from your screen and watch them swap places…

(this also works if you make the image smaller, in case you don’t want to run around the office doing paces back and forth from your desk.)

Moosah & Chub

the making of these two characters - Moosah & Chub - by Adam Scott.

how much is your blog worth?

an interesting site. well i thought it would be. it uses Technorati somehow to put a value on your site.

Inspired by Tristan Louis’s research into the value of each link to Weblogs Inc, I’ve created this little applet using Technorati’s API which computes and displays your blog’s worth using the same link to dollar ratio as the AOL-Weblogs Inc deal.

only problem is that you have to use Technorati tags on your site. and i don’t. so…

but i wouldn’t put too much faith in their valuation. in fact, take a whole 500 grams (minimum) of salt with that. i’d say that this site is worth at least… five times that much!!

:P

in case anyone wants to be told how value-less thier own site is:

IBM 3D TV?

IBM has shown a demonstration of some new technology that would allow current TV’s and projectors to show a 3D image. IBM used a 50″ digital flat screen TV with DLP and fitted their own hardware and software to take care of the 3D content.

IBM 3D TV proof of concept

is it just me or does that picture look like a regular TV? :? i’m hoping you can see more of the 3rd “D” in real life.
